May is Stroke Awareness Month
To prevent stroke:
Know your blood pressure and keep it under control
Watch your weight
Exercise 2 1/2 hours each week---such as a brisk 30-minute walk five days a week.
Cut your sodium and fat intake
Keep your cholesterol at a healthy level
Tip: Snacking on 3 oz. of nuts daily increases artery clearing HDL (good) cholesterol levels by 11%, enough to cut heart attack risk by 25% or more, say UCLA researchers.
