Honey Basil Lemonade
Who doesn't love lemonade on a hot summer day?
This recipe is just a little different. It uses honey and basil!
Ingredients:
2 cups water (divided)
1/4 cup honey
2/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
4 large fresh basil leaves torn finely
Ice
lemon slices (optional)
Preparation

- In a small saucepan, combine 2/3 cup of the water and the honey.
- Cook and stir until honey is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely.
- In a large pitcher combine lemon juice and basil leaves. With the back of a wooden spoon press basil to bruise leaves.
- Stir in remaining water and the honey mixture.
- Serve over ice and garnish with a lemon slice if desired
- Makes 4 cups

- 1 small package of elbow macaroni
- 1 can sweet peas

- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- mayonnaise

Instructions

An Apple for Today: Letting Go
I have noticed that when I do allow myself (which is rarely)
to Let Go and Let God, there is peace and serenity.
The outcome, in most cases, turns out much better
when I let my Higher Power (God) have control.
I admit I struggle with letting go on an hourly basis.
I'm not proud of this, but I AM working on it!
I'm sick of trying to control my life as well as
everyone else's. All of my anxiety comes from
focusing on other people and not God or me.
I must learn to fully surrender all of my worry,
angst, and problems over to God. I have to
get to this point or I will live in torment forever,
and this is the last thing I want to do. Pray
for me that I will reach my goal of Letting Go
and Letting God!

Recipe: Almond Crusted Tilapia
Almond Crusted Tilapia: from Southern Living
| Servings:Makes 4 servings | Prep Time:15 minutes | Cook Time:9 minutes |
Ingredients
- 1 cup sliced almonds, divided
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 (6-oz.) tilapia fillets
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
directions
- 1. Process 1/2 cup almonds in a food processor until
finely chopped, and combine with 1/4 cup flour in a shallow bowl.
2. Sprinkle fish evenly with salt; dredge in almond mixture.
3. Melt butter with olive oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat;
add fish, and cook 4 minutes on each side or until golden.
Remove fillets to a serving plate.
4. Add remaining 1/2 cup almonds to skillet, and cook, stirring often,
1 minute or until golden. Remove almonds with a slotted spoon, and sprinkle over fish.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live,

I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Please pray for those who do not have a personal relationship
with Jesus. It is important that we witness to others. Our
time is short and it is time to help others find Christ before it is
too late.

An Apple a Day
Let's Pray Father, I am so tired of playing it safe,
of bowing to the wrong crowd and listening to the wrong voices. I lay down my pride and surrender
to You and Your plan for my life in this New Year. Stretch my faith. Give me Your eyes
to see those in need. Fill me with Your power and strength so that others
will be drawn to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Mint Iced Tea
So Refreshing for Summer's Hot Weather!
Ingredients
- 3 English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea bags $
- 3 peppermint tea bags
- 1 bunch fresh mint, rinsed and picked over
- 1/2 cup sugar $
Preparation
- Bring 8 cups water to a boil in a large pot.
- Place tea bags in a large bowl and pour
- boiling water over. Add half of mint; cover
- and steep for 10 minutes. Strain into pitcher,
- discarding tea bags and mint. Stir in sugar to dissolve.
- Cover and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 2 hours.
- Pour into large glasses full of ice cubes.
- Garnish with reserved mint.
